1. Definitions and scope
This policy applies to the following digital products offered by Clases Portugués:
- Full Course, lifetime digital access to 40+ classes (levels A1 to B2), one-time payment.
- Full Course + Mentoring, Full Course plus 4 one-on-one sessions with a native teacher.
- Mind Maps, lifetime digital access to 15 visual vocabulary maps.
Scheduled individual sessions (mentoring or private classes) are governed by a specific cancellation and rescheduling policy, available at Class Cancellation Policy, which prevails over this section for that type of service.
✅ 7-day satisfaction guarantee. If within the first 7 calendar days after your payment is confirmed you feel the Full Course isn't for you, you can request a full refund, no need to justify the reason.
2. Legal basis for this guarantee
For purchases made by consumers located in Colombia, the Consumer Protection Statute (Law 1480 of 2011) recognizes, for remote or electronic sales, a minimum right of withdrawal of five (5) business days. Clases Portugués voluntarily offers a 7 calendar day guarantee, extending that minimum legal period, applicable to any buyer regardless of their country of residence.
This policy does not replace or limit the rights that the consumer protection legislation of your country of residence grants you; if such legislation establishes more favorable conditions for you, those conditions will prevail over what is stated here.
3. How to request a refund?
To request your refund within the 7-day period, follow these steps:
- Message us on WhatsApp with your full name and the email used for the purchase.
- Let us know the reason for your request (optional, but it helps us improve the course).
- We'll process your refund through the same payment platform used in the purchase (Stripe for international payments, or Wompi for payments in Colombia), within up to 10 business days.
4. Refund conditions
- The guarantee period is 7 calendar days from the date your payment was confirmed (not from your first access to the content).
- After this period, no refunds will be issued, since it is understood that the student had enough time to evaluate the content and decide whether to continue with the course.
- The refund is made on the total amount actually paid for the corresponding product.
- For the Full Course + Mentoring, if a 1:1 session with the teacher has already taken place before the refund request, the proportional value of the session(s) already provided will be deducted from the refund.
- Once the refund is approved, your access to the product will be automatically and immediately cancelled.
- The time it takes for the money to be credited to your account or card depends on the payment gateway and your bank, and may vary outside of Clases Portugués' control.
5. Cases that do not qualify for a refund
- Requests made after the 7 calendar day guarantee period.
- Sharing your access credentials with third parties or unauthorized use of the account.
- Requests based solely on not having used the access within the guarantee period (we recommend starting the course as soon as possible after your purchase).
- Partial refunds based on progress within the course, within the guarantee period, the refund applies in full, regardless of the percentage of content viewed.
6. Free Mini Course
The Portuguese Mini Course is 100% free and does not require payment or credit card information, so this refund policy does not apply to it.
7. Mentoring and personalized classes
For private classes or individually scheduled mentoring sessions, the conditions for cancellation, rescheduling, and no-shows are governed by the Class Cancellation Policy, agreed upon at the time each session is scheduled.
🔒 Data protection: the personal information provided to process your purchase or refund request (name, email) is used solely to manage your purchase, your access to the course, and your request, and is not shared with third parties except as strictly necessary to process payment (Stripe/Wompi gateways).
8. Changes to this policy
Clases Portugués may update this policy at any time to reflect changes in our products, payment platforms, or legal requirements. The current version will always be the one published at this same URL, indicating the last update date. Changes do not affect purchases already made under the terms in effect at the time of purchase.
9. Applicable law
This policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of Colombia, without prejudice to the rights that the consumer protection legislation of your country of residence grants you (see section 2).
